When keys used for alphabet entry mode, the table below lists keys whose operations are different from those
in the numeric entry mode.
Use this key To do this
0 to 9 and
period (.) keys
Enter alphabets. For alphabets assigned to these keys, refer to
“Appendix A. Keyboard Arrangement, Virtual Key Codes and
Character Codes” – “A.1.3. Character Codes in Alphabet Entry Mode.”
ENT key
Establish an unestablished key if any.
If there is no unestablished key, the same character code as in the
numeric entry mode is returned.
BS key
C key
Clear an unestablished key if any.
If there is no unestablished key, the same character code as in the
numeric entry mode is returned.
F1 to F12 Key
Establish an unestablished key if any.
If there is no unestablished key, the same character code as in the
numeric entry mode is returned.
Magic key
Establish an unestablished key if any when the
MAGIC_FUNC_ENTER is assigned to these keys.
If there is no unestablished key, the same character code as in the
numeric entry mode is returned.
ALP key
Clears unestablished keys if any exist and switches to numeric entry
mode.
